FAQ Frequently Asked Questions
On Accutension Stetho
A. No. Accutension Stetho is not a medical device and you cannot use it for the diagnosis of disease or other conditions, or in the cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.
A. No. The device is designed to validate whether an automated BPM is accurate on a specific user.
A. Yes. It supports most brands not only Omron. Accutension Stetho support most UPPER arm automatic blood pressure monitors with fast inflation and slow deflation.
A. Yes, in theory. It can record the aneroid dial and mercury column and sync with the sounds, but it is not designed to do that. It is designed to validate whether an automated BPM is accurate on a specific user.
A. Just search 'accutension Stetho' in the App Store. If you use iPad, you need to choose "only for iPhone" in the apple store.
A. No. if a bpm is designed to find blood pressure readings during cuff inflation (slow inflation, quick deflation). The slow inflation driven by an electronic pump generates noise that could affect recognition of the sounds of beat pulse, so Accutension Stetho only works with what measures during slow cuff deflation, such as Omron's. The slow cuff deflation process does not require a motor or a pump and is very quiet. BTW, medical professionals also determine blood pressure readings during slow cuff deflation. They manually pump up the cuff very quickly and then slowly deflate the cuff.
A. If there is no sound signal on the application, you need to check as below:Remove iPhone case if there is; Plug an earphone with a microphone into the phone jack; If "Ext Mic" doesn't turn full white, that means there is something wrong with your phone jack, you need to get your phone jack all right to use the application; If you have tried the above and there is still a problem, just restart your phone.
A. Correct. Pressure sensor technology is very mature nowadays and its accuracy is very good. However, the accuracy of algorithm still has big limitations in some users.
